This is my first post/journal entry for the start of my Spring class at Endicott. Last semester I took regular old masters classes. This semester both of my classes are technology related. I'm looking forward to the class but really need to make sure that I am better organized and that I pace myself as the term goes on. Last term I would get ahead, fall behind, get ahead, lose track of where I was, and so on.
One of the areas that is concerning this year is how technology is being implemented in the school. It seems like people are subscribing to programs, and designing lessons, without knowing what kind of resources we have and what bandwidth is available. With more and more people online, and more and more devices accessing the internet, I'm seeing that we as a school really need to get together and come up with some sort of plan to manage what we have, as well as plan for the future.
Here is a link to the TPACK site. http://tpack.org/ I have used the SAMR model a lot, but that seems like it is geared much more towards the technology. TPACK seems geared more towards the teaching end of the spectrum. I will be doing more with TPACK and would love to get your feedback as I progress through the course.
I haven't built a webpage in a while so this has been kind of fun. It is nice to go and see what new features are out there, as well as where they moved all the buttons and all.
